HEAVEN'S GIFT

Hero? Ask children what a hero is and they will answer you Batman, Superman and so on. A hero is a person who can sacrifice for the goodness of others. He/she shows willingness to help others in times of danger.
She is not as powerful as Wonder Woman. A person that is not as strong as Darna, but I consider her as my hero. A father, mother, friend, sister, a great teacher and a hero. She is my MOTHER. She stands as a father and a mother in our family when my Papa passed away when I was still a little baby. I know that it is not that easy to be a father and at the same time a mother. The responsibilities are doubled.  I salute her for being a strong person to overcome all the problems that we face in the family. She sacrifices everything that she has to make us happy.  She is my first teacher who teaches me right things to do and those wrong doings that should not be done. She is a great teacher to me and to my siblings. My mother is the one who is always at my side not only in times of happiness, but also in times of life’s challenges and difficulties. She is my angel. She takes good care of me when I’m sick. An angel because she guides me in everything I do, helps me for every decision I make, and advises me for every problem I face. I know that her decisions will always be right for me.
I am not a perfect daughter to my mother. I admit that sometimes, I am being selfish. There are some things that I can’t tell to her, but I know that she is always there to listen. I am just afraid to what she will tell or what will be her reactions or comments. Sometimes, I am not also following her advises and I am so sorry for this but I love my Mama so much. I am a Mama’s girl. For me, she is the best mom in the world.
To all of us, we should value our mothers. We should respect them because they deserve it. They are heaven’s gifts.

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.

Stop Blaming!.Work and Prove!

The States of the Nation Address (SONA) is given to us by the President wherein he/she states to the public the things he had done. It is given on the last Monday of the month of July.
Last July 25, 2011, President Noynoy Aquino delivered his SONA to the public. He stated what he had done in his first year of service in our country. He told to us the status of our country. I appreciate the language that Noynoy used in his SONA. Unlike PGMA before, Noynoy used a straight Filipino language. He used our national language.President Noynoy did not use a “kodigo” in his SONA unlike PGMA.
In the SONA of Pnoy, i didn’t want his way that he was always comparing the things he has done and he has not yet done like his soon projects to the past administration. Why he kept on comparing? And why he kept on blaming the past administration? I don’t think that this is a good way in presenting his SONA. Blaming the past is not good. Yes, the past administration really made our country left behind the others, but instead of blaming, he should do a way to make our country a better one.
The hottest issue in the Senate which is the Rhbill was not tackled by Pnoy in his SONA. It should be tackled by him for this is a very hot issue in our country and people want to know what’s going on in this issue.
The food for school program is now not included to the budget of our country. Why did they remove it in our budget? Many need it. There are so many pupils and students who need this program because of poverty. They don,t eat thrice a day because they don’t have enough money to sustain all their needs. They should include it in the budget.
Education is very important and this should be one of the main focuses of the government. We need a higher quality of education.
Our country now is left behind by the other countries in terms of economic progression and development. I hope that the current administration will make our country a better one. I hope that the words by PNoy are not only by words but also be done in action.

GO FOR BREASTFEEDING!

Babies need proper nutrition. How can we give them good health? Where will we get the best milk for their better development?
“Breastfeeding is the best for babies up to two years.” This is a very famous line from different commercials of different milk companies. We can also see or read it in some milk.
As an observation, nowadays, many are not using breastfeeding because of many commercial types of milk. Because of many things to be done or many responsibilities to do, mothers prefer to buy a substitute for breast milk. They buy commercial milks though these are more expensive. Most people who used commercial milks are those who have a better income or a higher salary.
Babies need proper care. They need proper nutrition. Milk is where they get their energy. It is their food, for all we know, they can’t still eat what we are eating. Babies need the right milk for them. Human breast milk is the healthiest form of milk for babies. Breast milk contains the right amount of fats, sugar, water and protein that is needed for baby’s growth and development. It also lessens the risk of obesity of babies.
Let us promote breastfeeding. We should be aware of what is more nutritious. We should know the nutrients that we can get from breast milk and the nutrients from commercial milks. It’s not bad to use commercial milks BUT mothers should used it only as a substitute for breast milk when needed, not as a permanent milk for the babies.

"Wishes of a Simple Student"

Dear Mr. President,

                Greetings of peace and love!
I am a simple student who is hoping for a change in our country. Nowadays, we are now facing many problems in different aspects such as education, peace and order, and poverty.
In education, our country was left behind other countries. The schools are lacking of books in the fact that one book is given by two or three students. As a student, I am appealing for help. We need books in order for us to use as references. Lack of classrooms in public schools is also one of the problems in our country in terms of education. In public schools, there are so many students but there are no enough classrooms so there are times that there are more than 50 students in a small classroom. Our government should give an attention to education. We, students are hoping and looking for a higher quality of education.
“Poverty.”  This is also one of the major problems in our country. The government must find a solution to fight poverty. Less job opportunities, low salaries, and too much population are some of the reasons why poverty occurs in our country. We, Filipinos are hoping for more jobs and a higher salary for us to give the needs of our family.
“RH Bill,” this is the hottest health bill topic in the senate office. As a student, I want this program for it lessens our population as Malthusian Theory goes this way, “Population is a hindrance to economic development of a country.” I am happy because you are fighting for it. As a student, I am also affected by this problem. I am also aware of the RH bill and I am pro to it.
I wish that the problems in our country will be solved under your administration. Let us be one and make our country a progressive one.

Respectfully yours,
                                                                                                                                      Eunica A. Arre
